Loren Phillips, LCSW (he/him) is a Team Lead of Renaissance Social Services, Inc.’s Living Room, a peer support alternative to hospitals and police for mental health crisis in Chicago, IL. Loren’s work is rooted in his personal experiences as a queer adolescent in the mental health care system and lifelong journey of mental wellbeing. He received his master's in social work from Loyola University Chicago in 2013 and has worked in an intimate partner violence shelter, mental health, and street outreach. Loren has presented at state and national conferences on topics including: serving homicide victim's family members in groups, LGBTQ-inclusive mental health services and harm reduction in mental health street outreach.
