Sam works at the Rhode Island Coalition to End Homelessness as the DV Bonus Program Manager and a member of the Equity Committee, the Diversity, Equity Inclusion Group and the Unsheltered Planning Group for the Rhode Island Continuum of Care. As the Community Programs Engagement Coordinator for RICEH, she facilitated the Constituent Advisory Committee, a lived experience group providing  where she provides paid, professional opportunities and trainings. She is a survivor of homelessness due to domestic violence, then found shelter in public housing, Section 8, then home ownership. She received her paralegal certificate at Boston University and was a fellow for the Women's Policy Institute. She has experience in the probate and municipal court systems, including minimum housing and zoning violations. She assists clients at legal clinics throughout Rhode Island expunging/sealing criminal and eviction records to help remove this systemic barrier and believes housing is a human right.
