Bio

Marco grew up in the San Fernando Valley, a community of ~2 Millions residents in Los Angeles. He's a first generation Mexican-American who grew up with 3 siblings; who's father and grandfather would come every season to work the fields in Oxnard, CA, picking berries. Growing up in a working class family, Marco and his family had moved around 7 times, before he turned 13, which was when they found their forever home. Marco graduated from CSU Northridge, worked in Government and for the last 5+ years has worked as a Director for one of LA's largest homeless services providers. Marco was 27 and one of only 2 BIPOC Directors at the time, he grew a team of 8 to 40+, where he's made an emphasis to hire diverse, lived experience, folks across his team and mgmt. He oversees their access centers, entry to all shelter and PSH, homeless prevention, and problem solving programs. Marco along with agency leadership had also identified the lack of BIPOC communities within their PSH sites.
