Tanesha Travis is the Partners with Lived Expertise Coordinator at Sacramento Steps Forward (SSF). SSF is the lead agency that works alongside the Sacramento CoC to support, evaluate, and grow the homelessness response system in Sacramento County. To her role she brings over a decade of knowledge in human rights advocacy and activism within the Sacramento community, merged with her significant lived experience of homelessness and housing/food insecurity. Tanesha’s proficiencies include organizing several unions within the fields of healthcare and education, including Anti-Racism/Social Justice training and leading equity initiatives. At present, Tanesha's work is truly her heart work. Tanesha combines her relationship building skills with a focus on equity via a human centered approach to uplift and center the voices of persons with lived experience: from inception, to design, to implementation thereby improving community efforts and response to persons experiencing homelessness.
